Summary

In regards to protein powder, Naked is the brand I recommend. Naked, gets its name from the fact it has one single ingredient. No flavors, sweeteners, fillers or preservatives. While of course this is still processed, keeping ingredients simple and minimal is important. Whey isolate is filtered further than whey concentrate to remove most of the naturally-occurring lactose and fat, yielding a higher protein percentage per scoop (typically 85–95% versus 70–80% for concentrate) and a lower lactose load that is generally better tolerated by patients with mild lactose sensitivity.

About

Naked Nutrition is a US-based supplement company built around a single-ingredient philosophy. One protein source per product. Their whey comes from US-farmed, grass-fed cow's milk and is minimally processed (cold-pressed, instantized only with sunflower lecithin or sunflower-derived lecithin). The brand has become a go-to for athletes, clinicians, and home users who want a clean label and a short ingredient list.

Why I recommend it

When patients ask me about protein powder I want a brand whose label they can read without a magnifying glass. Naked's single-ingredient approach is the cleanest I have found, and it pairs naturally with the protein-forward guidance in the Training Room and with the per-meal dose target of 30 to 50 grams.
